The Superprop was first introduced to the construction industry in 1986. Since then it has been used extensively throughout the UK providing heavy propping and lifting in a variety of applications.

The prop body on which the system is based comprises four vertical channel sections built into a square configuration using a prop chord connector. The prop body provides the basis for a system capable of supporting up to 240 tonnes per prop. Prop bodies are pinned together with a simple four pin joint allowing rapid safe erection of props.

The key to the flexibility of the Superprop lies in the adjustable base and head units. These allow up to 400mm adjustment in the prop height. Jack seatings are provided within the head and base units to take up to four 50 tonne hydraulic cylinders for preloading, jacking or releasing of the props.

The Superprop system can be braced at standard centres using bridging panel components or at flexible spacing using proprietary push pull props.

The basic propping and bracing components are complemented by a range of accessories including access brackets, raking shore adaptors and header beams. Header beams comprise twin 406 x 178 UB sections available in 4m and 6m lengths; each beam is provided with a pinned splice detail at each end.
