Mabey Hire takes RoSPA Gold again

For the eighth consecutive year, we have received a Gold Medal at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) awards. The award recognises our ongoing commitment to helping raise standards of health and safety management.

On both a business and personal level, accidents at work can be a major disruption to normal operations. As such, it’s vital that all companies prioritise good health and safety performance on their sites. Across our 17 UK locations, we do just that. We have taken great care in developing well-designed health and safety management systems, which offer outstanding control of risk. Therefore, it’s no surprise that we won our eighth consecutive Gold Medal at the RoSPA awards. The prestigious honour will be presented to us at a ceremony in Birmingham later this year.

Speaking on the victory, Paul Millea, Head of SHEQ & Compliance at Mabey Hire, commented: "We’re delighted to have won another Gold Medal at the RoSPA awards. This fantastic achievement underlines how seriously we take health, safety and wellbeing at Mabey Hire.

"The RoSPA awards aren’t only coveted across multiple industries, but also across multiple nations. What’s more, by winning for an eighth-consecutive year, we’ve really highlighted how improving health and safety standards is one of our core long-term business goals. Rather than bask in the glory of previous successes, we use each year as a benchmark, from which we can improve upon. That’s what we’ll look to do again this year and I hope to see our efforts rewarded with a ninth Gold Medal!"

As well as improving our internal health and safety systems, our temporary works solutions can enable all companies to work safely regardless of the scale or complexity of a project. We can offer a complete in-house solution from design, supply, installation and monitoring for planned, reactive and emergency projects.

First established in 1956, the RoSPA awards rank as one of the most renowned health and safety honours for companies across the world. Every year, nearly 2,000 entries are received from companies in the UK, which equates to over seven million workers. Each company is asked to provide evidence on how they uphold outstanding health and safety standards across their locations. After submittal, the entries are judged by a carefully selected panel of health and safety experts, with decades of experience in the field. As such, the judging criteria is tough, but does mean that winning a ROSPA award represents one of the most effective ways for a company to demonstrate its commitment to proper health and safety standards.
