Leading bridge and engineering services specialist Mabey Hire has invested in its senior leadership team, appointing three new team members. These include National Operations Director Ian Matthews, Chief Engineer Stephen Hubbard, and Business Development Manager for Instrumentation Jake Kaufman. All three are part of the business’s strategy to improve customer service.
Operations Director Ian Matthews joins the executive team of Mabey Hire from Groundforce UK, the construction solutions company, where he has served as General Manager in the specialist equipment division and Business Development Director within its piling division. Prior to his role at Groundforce, Ian has held numerous senior roles in national companies that serve the construction industry including the Algeco Scotsman Group, Speedy Crane, Speedy Space and Nationwide Access. At Mabey Hire Hire UK, Ian will drive improvements to the operational delivery of equipment hiring across the depots, helping to enhance customer service.
Stephen Hubbard has been appointed as Chief Engineer. In this new role, he will work closely with the full engineering team to provide technical advice and implement best practice. Stephen has been with Mabey Hire since graduating university in 1998 and has previously held the roles of Senior Engineer, Projects Team Leader and, most recently, Sales Manager for Contracting. Working with engineering teams across Mabey Hire, he will provide technical advice on design standards and legislation, implement best practice and support professional development of Mabey Hire’s engineers.
Focusing on the instrumentation team, Business Development Manager Jake Kaufman will be responsible for generating growth by introducing both new and existing solutions to the vertical market.
Gordon MacDonald, CEO of Mabey Hire, said: “It’s an exciting time for us and these appointments reflect our desire to continue to improve our business based on our customers’ needs. All three bring the necessary experience and expertise to encourage the development and implementation of market-leading innovations, such as live monitoring and instrumentation, while improving customer service and enabling projects to be completed more quickly, safely and efficiently.”
