Proud to support Help for Heroes

We’re proud and excited to announce that from 1st July, we’ll be supporting the armed forces community by fundraising for Help for Heroes.

Help for Heroes is the leading Armed Forces and veterans’ charity in the UK. They give wounded veterans, service people and their families a second chance at life. Starting a new life after leaving the military can be difficult and feel overwhelming, that’s why Help for Heroes help people to find work, somewhere to live, a purpose and a place in society.

As a business, our goal is to raise £10,000 between 1st July 2024 and 30th June 2025, through fundraising activities across our depot network and business functions.

Victoria Yates, Head of Change & Transformation, comments: “We’re really excited to be fundraisers for Help for Heroes. We’ve set up a working group of our ESG Champions to generate ideas, make plans for fundraising events and help us reach our goal. I look forward to all the initiatives and events our group creates.”

Tommie Ambery, BDM – Military and Armed Forces service leaver, comments: “It’s fantastic to know Mabey Hire proactively supports the ex-military community and seeks opportunities to support our wounded through Help for Heroes. To be able to support those within the Veteran community is important to me and it’s brilliant to know it’s important to my employer as well.”

Dean Williams, Help for Heroes Community Fundraising Manager: "So far, we’ve been able to support 32,000 men and women, but there are many more who need our help. We receive almost no funding from the Government, which means we rely on the spirit and generosity of the public, so having Mabey Hire join us as a Community Partner means so much, your support will help even more veterans and their families."
